World Products, Inc. names Dan Paulson as Technical Sales Director for its antenna division WP Wireless.

Sonoma, CA. — World Products, Inc., a leading provider of electronic components, design technology and antenna products, announced that Dan Paulson has joined the company as Technical Sales Director for its antenna division; WP Wireless.

Paulson, will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to sales, business development and customer partnerships in support of the continued expansion of WP Wireless. for advanced antenna designs for next-generation wireless markets, including Automated Meter Readers, Remote Sensing/Monitoring, Point to Point/Point to Multi Point Infrastructures, Telematics, Tracking Systems and the device market including VoiP Phones, Routers, ruggedized, PDA’s, Laptops, etc. Dan will report to Mark Beynon, President and Chief Operating Officer at WP.

Dan has more than 20 years of experience in US and international sales and business development in the wireless industry. He has held significant leadership positions with wireless industry giants such as Nokia and BellSouth in addition to working with several successful start-up companies. Paulson earned two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Utah and an MBA from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

World Products, Inc. New Surge Generator Delivered and Installed

SONOMA, California — World Products, Inc. announced today that they have received delivery of the their new Surge Generator. After some intial testing and training for WP Lab technicians, the Surge Generator will be ready for testing in April 2009. Please check back here soon for further details.

The World Products, Inc. Surge Generator meets the levels and requirements in accordance with the following national and international standards:
• IEC 61000 4-5 --  Combination Waveform
• UL 1449 3rd edition
• IEEE/ANSI 62.41 Categories B and C
• IEC 61643-1

The Surge Generator has the following features:
 
• With regards to UL 1449 3rd edition, the Surge Generator can test the I(n) sequence up to 40ka 8x20 at 600VAC.
The Surge Generator can also test VPR at 6kv/3ka- 600VAC.

• Able to apply the surge with respect to the AC sinewave from 0 to 360 degrees.

• Includes a backfilter that protects the input 220VAC from surges going upstream and damaging other equipment.

• Fully programmable to surge as many times as one wishes with a selectable time duration in between surges.

• Test Data can be measured, stored and queried at any time. Test Reports can also be printed out.

WP Wireless AMR Antenna Selected by Leading Smart Grid Solutions Provider for Smart Meter Program

WP Wireless has been supplying its patent pending UGM series antennas to tier 1 meter manufacturers, modem manufacturers, and AMR system integrators for over 4 years.

Many of its antennas are in use on Verizon Certified and T-Mobile certified CDMA and GPRS automated meter reader applications.

Sonoma, Calif., — August 25, 2008 – World Products, Inc. (WP) is pleased to announce the signing of a distribution contract between WP and Carlton-Bates. WP management has always felt that Carlton-Bates would be an excellent distributor for its products and the markets it serves.

Under the new contract, Carlton-Bates will distribute product lines carried by World Products, Inc through their offices in North America and Mexico. WP carries four types of products: surge suppression, semiconductors, switch devices (relays) and wireless antennas. The surge suppression devices are marketed under the World Products brand name. The semiconductor products are sold under the Lite On name and the relays are from NEC/Tokin.

Surge suppression: The most dynamic and exciting new surge product on the market is the TVZ (thermally fused MOV). Major markets for TVZs are white goods, industrial control, power supply and surge protection devices. The TVZ will be a product that can provide leverage for other products used in these markets such as industrial relays, TVS diodes, gas discharge tubes, standard MOV’s, etc. 

Surge protection: WP is one of a few companies in North America that offers MOV’s, TVS diodes, gas discharge tubes (with SMD and symmetrical GDT’s), thyristors and RFI (X & Y) capacitors. 

Semiconductors: World Products has an exclusive marketing agreement with Lite On Semiconductor Company (LSC) to market its products in North America. There is a growing market for the types of products WP now carries for LSC such as MOSFET’s, SCR’s, TRIAC’s, SIDAC’s, bridge rectifiers, Schottky rectifiers, and standard, fast, super- and ultra-fast recovery rectifiers.

Switch Devices: WP carries a full line of switching (relay) products featuring NEC signal and automotive relays. In addition, it offers a full line of industrial relays, photo couplers, photo MOS and solid-state relays. 

Wireless Antennas: WP Wireless is a recipient of the Frost and Sullivan’s Customer Service Innovation award and prides itself on being able to offer multiple technologies tailored to match any wireless application need. Antennas carried include standard and custom, PIFA, helical monopole, flexible printed circuit, ferrite, F-PCB, LTCC and dipole antennas. Target markets include consumer wireless, industrial, automated meter reader, infrastructure and automotive.
